Black Expressions: 4 Books for $1 Each

February is Black History month. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the 2006 estimated black population in Gwinnett County was 20.6%. Did you know that Black History month actually started as Negro History week by Dr. Carter G. Woodson. He started this week in 1926 as an initiative to bring national attention to the contributions of black people throughout American history.
Dr. Woodson chose the second week of February for Negro History Week because it marks the birthdays of two men who greatly influenced the black American population, Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln.
Sometimes you may not wish read books with a perspective by Eurocentric auhors but rather black authors. That's why there is Black Expressions
